The rules and governance framework of the Travel Industry Golf Club Western Cape.
1.1 The club shall be known as the Travel Industry Golf Club Western Cape, hereinafter referred to as "TIGCWC" or "the Club".
1.2 The Club was established on 1 January 2010 and operates in the Western Cape province of South Africa.
2.1 To encourage networking amongst professionals in the travel, tourism, events and hospitality industries through the game of golf.
2.2 To promote the game of golf within the travel industry and to provide a social and competitive golfing environment.
2.3 To organise regular golf days, tournaments and social events for the benefit of members and the broader industry.
3.1 Membership shall be open to any individual who works in, or is associated with, the travel, tourism, events or hospitality industries.
3.2 Application for membership shall be made on the prescribed form and submitted to the Club Secretary.
3.3 The Committee reserves the right to accept or decline any application for membership without providing a reason.
3.4 Membership categories:
4.1 Annual membership fees shall be determined by the Committee and reviewed each year at the Annual General Meeting.
4.2 Fees are due on 1 January each year or upon acceptance of membership application.
4.3 Members who fail to pay fees within 60 days of the due date shall be suspended from membership until payment is received.
5.1 The Club shall be managed by an elected Committee consisting of:
5.2 Committee members shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting and shall serve for a term of one year.
5.3 No individual may hold the same office for more than three consecutive years.
6.1 An Annual General Meeting (AGM) shall be held once per year, not later than 31 March.
6.2 Notice of the AGM shall be given to all members at least 21 days in advance.
6.3 A quorum shall consist of 15% of paid-up members or 10 members, whichever is greater.
7.1 All members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and sportsmanlike manner at all Club events.
7.2 Members shall at all times adhere to the Rules of Golf as set out by The R&A and the Local Rules of the respective golf course.
7.3 Any member found to be in breach of the Code of Conduct may be suspended or expelled by the Committee.
8.1 This Constitution may only be amended at a General Meeting by a two-thirds majority of members present.
8.2 Proposed amendments must be submitted in writing to the Secretary at least 21 days before the meeting at which they are to be considered.
